Airline rules come first
Whether a ticket can be changed or refunded depends on the airline's fare rules, which we show or explain before you buy. Some fares are non-refundable once ticketed.
24-hour cancellation
For flights to, from or within the United States booked at least seven days before departure, U.S. rules require airlines to allow cancellation without penalty within 24 hours of booking. For tickets booked through us, we will confirm the applicable window when you book, and you can request cancellation by phone or email as soon as possible.
Airline cancellations and significant changes
If an airline cancels your flight or significantly changes it and you do not accept the alternative, you are generally entitled to a refund to your original form of payment under U.S. Department of Transportation rules. We will help you request it.
Voluntary changes
If you choose to change or cancel a ticket outside the 24-hour window, the airline's fare rules apply, and you may owe a fare difference, an airline fee or both.
Service fees
If a service fee applies to your booking, it is disclosed before payment, along with whether it is refundable.
Refund timing
Approved refunds are returned to the original form of payment. Processing times depend on the airline and your card issuer and commonly take several weeks.
